Who we are

We are a local Hackney Gelato brand on a mission to spread new and unique flavours throughout the community. After working in commercial kitchens such as Bocca di Lupo & Soho Hotel, I wanted to translate my passion through a more unique medium to bring Kurdish flavours to the forefront of Western cuisine. 

Inspired by the flavours of my childhood, I’ve embarked on a journey to learn about my culture and share it with my community. I called it Serin to honour my grandmother, it means sweet in Kurdish and was a prominent part of her vocabulary which encompassed all things delightful about life. It’s a word that embodies our relationship and I wanted to recreate that feeling through Gelato.
